Our Pastor
Tom Riley
Tom grew up in Marietta, Oklahoma. After graduating from high school, he attended Cameron State University, and East Central State University. In 1967 he married Lynn Donovan. They have three children.
In January 1981, Tom left a career with Montgomery Wards of 13 years to serve as CEO of the Hu-Don Manufacturing Company. After 18 years serving as President and CEO, Tom accepted a job with the Ardmore Family YMCA as Executive Director which he presently holds.
“I have had a relationship with Christ all my life. Some of the time it was a very distant relationship caused by me not being firmly committed in my love affair with the Master. Presently, each day of my life brings me to a closer walk with Christ.” Tom has served as Deacon for nine years and Elder for four years in the church. Tom has completed most of the classes required in the Course of Study School through SMU.
Since October 1997, he has served as pastor of the Lone Grove United Methodist Church. The teaching of God’s grace as a gift to all of his children is one of Tom’s strongest assets. In quoting him, “I trust God for each day of my life no matter what the circumstances. I follow His lead even when I can’t truly see where He is leading me. I follow Him even when it scares me to do so because deep within my spirit I know these simple steps of faith are preparing me for the promise of eternity in heaven as being a child of God.”
